Rachel Selekman

Rachel Selekman is a pediatric urologist and clinical informaticist whose work sits at the meeting point of patient care and the systems that support it. Much of her career has focused on making health technology genuinely useful to the people delivering care, turning data into insights that clinical teams can actually act on. As a physician practicing in the DMV, she also sees the day-to-day realities of our regional healthcare landscape, including the access barriers that too many local families run into when they need specialized care.

Rachel’s connection to PRC, though, is deeply personal. She lives in DC with her husband, their three kids, and one very beloved cat. She became a River School parent in January 2019, and all three of her children flourished there. Her daughter, who has single-sided deafness, is a grateful patient of Potomac River Clinic and today thrives with an implanted hearing device. Having walked that path herself, Rachel knows firsthand the vulnerability families feel when supporting a child who is deaf or hard of hearing and the profound difference the right care can make.
