Julie Bedford-Vanderbilt
Julie Bedford-Vanderbilt is a communications, graphic design and marketing specialist with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in Washington, D.C. She has over 30 years’ experience working on strategic, results-oriented projects for government agencies, not-for-profit and private sector entities. Julie has been on the Potomac River Clinics’ (PRC) Board of Directors for over two years and was an active member of The River School’s (co-located with PRC) Annual Giving Campaign Committee for six years (2013-2017). She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from Wheaton College (Massachusetts) and a Master of Arts degree in marine biology from the University of Miami. Julie’s son, Dylan, was fitted with his first pair of hearing aids at the PRC shortly after being diagnosed with moderate to severe hearing loss at the age of two. Soon after, Dylan enrolled in The River School’s Parent-Infant Program and seven years later he graduated as a proud member of the Falcon Class (2018). To this day, Dylan (and his father who also has hearing loss) greatly benefit from the services provided by PRC.
