Hendi Crosby Kowal
Hendi joined the Potomac River Clinic board in 2018. She is a Senior Technical Writer at Altarum, a non-profit dedicated to improving the health of people with fewer financial resources and populations disenfranchised by the health care system. Hendi earned her masters degree in public health from the George Washington University in 1998, and has extensive experience developing and evaluating health promotion programs, curricula, and intervention tools. Her areas of expertise include reproductive and behavioral health. Currently, her work focuses on proposal writing and business development; she also developed and curates her organization’s proposal development resource library and trains and mentors junior staff in proposal writing. Hendi has two daughters, one of whom is a bilateral cochlear implant user and long-time PRC patient. In 2010, Hendi experienced sudden onset hearing loss and since then has been a hearing aid user and PRC patient herself. Hendi spends a lot of her spare time making and teaching pottery.
